Scottsdale Transit Fleet Electrification
Julie Eldridge (Niti Systems) was contracted by Scottsdale’s Transportation Department to conduct an assessment of available electric bus technologies and to make recommendations to the city for its planned transition to Battery Electric Vehicles. Julie researched the advantages and disadvantages of a broad range of electric vehicle and charging technologies, making recommendations to the city for their future procurement and specific route applications. Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) – PlanIt Project Management Upgrade
The Niti Systems team helped ARC with an assessment review and development plan to upgrade PlanIt – ARC’s current project management database. Our team is supporting ARC with the development of an updated and efficient project database system for use by internal ARC staff for project programming maintenance, generating project list reports, and regional federal fund balancing exercises.
Long Beach Transit (LBT) – Automated Passenger Counter (APC) Implementation
The Niti Systems team helped Long Beach Transit with their APC systems assessment and implementation. LBT deployed Infrared Beam based APC system in their partial fleet in 2012. Our consultants performed an assessment of the effectiveness of their existing setup, alignment with business goals and assessment of current market offering. For Phase 1 of that project, our team successfully finished the current state assessment, technology landscape, peer agencies assessment, cost/benefit analysis as well as future state recommendation to the agency, including developing specifications and implementation support for the future system.
Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) – Smartcard Modernization
The NSC team will support an effort to upgrade and modernize MARTA’s existing Smartcard based Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system to a state-of-the-art modern Electronic Fare Payment System. Our team will help MARTA implement the new Fare Collection System with a focus on with addition of new functionality and the replacement of aging equipment with the goal(s) of Increasing cost efficiency, improving reliability, aligning with customers’ modernized payment needs, aligned with market-sensitive customer expectations, providing equitable service and fare policy and expanding integration within the region.
City of Durham – Transit Fleet and Technology Support Services
Niti Systems will support City of Durham with Transit Fleet & Technology Support Services (FTSS) contract aimed at advance rolling stock and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) projects, with the goal of enhancing our overall customer service experience, ensuring proper fleet planning and maintenance, and properly planning for the procurement, installation, and integration (locally and regionally) of ITS. We will support the agency with Fleet Expansion and Revitalization, Research and Analysis, Asset Management, Bus Procurement Support, ITS Planning, and ITS procurement support.
Los Angeles Metro – Freeway Service Patrol Technology Assessment
Niti Systems founder Jignesh Patel led the Los Angeles County Metropolitan (LA Metro) Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) project for an in-depth technology assessment and prepared a technology strategic plan for their entire ITS setup, including software, hardware, communication system and business processes. In line with the FTA Systems Engineering approach, the team helped the agency develop their Regional ITS Architecture, Concept of Operation and Technical Specifications for the future system.
South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) – Real Time Passenger Information Assessment
Niti Systems founder Jignesh Patel led a project with SFRTA for their rail only Real-Time Passenger Information (RTPI) assessment, technical specifications, and implementation. The team also helped the agency with their Phase 2 Deployment that included an assessment, technical specifications, and procurement support for the signage project.
Atlanta Streetcar Real Time Passenger Information Assessment
Niti founder Jignesh Patel supported the Atlanta Streetcar with their Real-Time Passenger Information (RTPI) assessment, technical specifications, and implementation.
Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) ITS Implementation
Niti founder Jignesh Patel worked with Milwaukee Transit to help agency perform assessment of the current system limitations and options analysis. The Video and Audio quality of their current system did not meet MCTS needs, and footage could only be retrieved by manually retrieving hard drives from buses later. The team helped agency explore alternatives to select and procure a modern Mobile Video Surveillance System (MVSS) to replace their existing security camera system. The effort included development of technical specifications as well as procurement support and help with the project management as upcoming phases.
Orlando Sunrail - New Fare Collection System and Equipment Implementation
Niti Systems team is leading the Project/Program Management effort for an implementation of a state-of-the-art Fare Collection System for Orlando Sunrail. Our team will manage the team of Fare Collection solutions team, subcontractors, and vendors to deliver, implement and manage the Project. We are managing all aspects of the project including staffing, scheduling, and communication procedures for controlling all correspondence, Submittals and other communications between the Vendor and the Department and other Agencies, as well as communications with other third-party entities.
Boston MBTA – New Fare Collection System
NSC members are a part of the team that is supporting the implementation of MBTA’s new Fare Collection system. Our consultants are providing Subject Matter Expertise for back-office system configurations, requirements management, business processes, patron website, employer programs, fare policy, systems integration, payment rules and velocity controls.
Palm Tran – Fare Collection Modernization
Niti Systems founder Jignesh Patel helped the Palm Tran agency with assessment of their current system, recommendations for their future system, regional integration support and a roadmap for future implementation. Palm Tran’s aging Fare Collection system was unable to support the regional integration goals of South Florida transportation providers. Jignesh and team reviewed the current system and the region’s integration goals and provided tailored recommendations for a future system, along with an implementation roadmap.
VIA San Antonio – Automated Fare Collection
Niti Systems founder Jignesh Patel supported VIA with Project/Program Management services for Automated Fare Collection (AFC) System implementation projects. Jignesh led team of AFC subject matter experts supported the agency with vendor proposal analysis, contract negotiation, business process analysis and project management services to VIA for fare payment system implementation.
Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) – Breeze Farecard Audit
Niti Systems founder Jignesh Patel helped the Atlanta Regional Commission with a Breeze farecard system Clearinghouse Audit and introduced Internal Controls. The Breeze Clearinghouse is a revenue settlement system used to determine and settle revenue transactions to and due from the various Atlanta Regional Transit Partners.
LA Metro – TAP Farecard Assessment
Niti Systems founder Jignesh Patel performed an assessment and technical specifications of the Regional TAP Support Center (RTSC) components for their TAP program including areas such as Call Center Operations, Reduced Fare Program, Employer Program, Third Party Vendor Network, Regional Operations, Clearing & Settlement, System Administration and Reporting Systems.
Atlanta Streetcar, Inc.- Mobile Solutions
Niti Systems founder Jignesh Patel worked with the Atlanta Streetcar to explore the return of the electric streetcar to Peachtree Street and support various Mobile Solutions, including a mobile ticketing solution. Jignesh led a team of consultants that helped the agency with technology specifications development, vendor selection and implementation of the Mobile Ticketing Fare Payment System.
Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) – Smartcard Implementation
Niti Systems founder Jignesh Patel guided JTA through the successful roll-out of their smartcard-based fare collection and Mobile Ticketing implementation (STAR Card). Jignesh helped JTA streamline an existing fare collection system and contract close-out for a smartcard-based Fare Collection system. Jignesh also helped the agency with technical specifications development, procurement support, proposal evaluation, pilot project implementation and project management support for their mobile ticketing system.
Minneapolis Metro Transit – Fare Collection System Assessment
Our founder Jignesh Patel successfully helped Metro Transit with an assessment of their current state Fare Collection System, providing an alternatives assessment and recommendation for a future system. The assessment focused on the hardware/equipment, asset management strategies, business processes, software solutions, reporting system and fare media alternatives.
Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) – Smartcard System Development
Between 2005 and 2007 Jignesh Patel helped MARTA with a successful implementation of the first 100% smartcard-based fare collection system in the US. Our consultants supported the agency with Technology Architecture, Systems Integration, PCI Compliance, Back-Office System Configuration, Business Process Definition, Website Development and Vendor Management System.
Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) – Infor EAM Implementation
Niti Systems is supporting CTA with an Infor EAM implementation as technical Subject Matter Expert. Our consultants are responsible for the review of the existing Infor environment, document Infor-specific implementation plans, assist in implementation changes to Infor software and updates to Infor equipment records and perform data quality analysis. We are helping CTA with data standard documentation for Infor equipment records and manage Slow Zone Tracking of the Infor EAM/SCM implementation.
Atlanta Region Transit Link Authority (ATL) – Enterprise Asset Management Implementation
Niti Systems is supporting ATL with an implementation of their new Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) implementation. The EAM implementation will support the current and future EAM needs for the ATL and Cobb County Transit currently. The solution will have the ability to scale to meet the asset management needs of other transit operators within the ATL’s jurisdiction.
New York Metropolitan Transit Authority – Asset Management System Integration
Niti Systems founder Jignesh Patel supported New York MTA on an asset management project implementation for 6 agencies including Department of Buses, Department of Subways, Long Island Railroad (LIRR), Metro North Railroad (MNR), Bridges and Tunnels and MTA Headquarter. The scope of work was to integrate asset management systems across all five agencies, deploy an integrated asset management solution, and create common business processes.
Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA) – Transit Asset Management
The Niti Systems founder Jignesh Patel performed an assessment of the Transit Asset Management (TAM) needs, State of Good Repair (SGR) and ISO 55000 Draft International Standards for Asset Management at GRTA. Subsequently, our team helped GRTA implement a TAM solution along with the SGR database.
Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) – Technology Strategic Alignment
Niti Systems supported SacRT with a Business and Technology Strategic Alignment effort. Our team performed an in-depth assessment of SacRT’s existing technology systems, processes and staff skill levels to provide management with an understanding of how the current IT landscape aligns with goals and objectives, providing recommendations to improve overall IT operations.
Long Beach Transit (LBT) – Technology Assessment
Niti Systems supported Long Beach Transit with an assessment of their technology infrastructure and development of a strategic technology roadmap. Our team conducted an organizational and systems to develop a Technology Strategic Plan for the agency. As part of the assessment, we helped the agency document the long-term technology plans and provided tailored recommendations for technology investments. We supported the agency with technical specifications and procurement support for various technology systems.
